Hello everyone. Above is a lovely picture of my mum and dad, taken when they were courting some 54 years ago. What a beautiful couple they were!
It's with a huge amount of sadness that I would like to announce that my lovely dad passed away on December 21st 2012 after a very brave battle with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. He was diagnosed with a bone marrow disease, Myelodysplasia, some three and a half years ago and we knew this time would come when the disease would progress to Leukaemia. Even so, it still came as a shock when we were told he only had weeks to live. We all miss him terribly and he has left a huge gap in our lives.
On the positive side, though, as a family we have lots of happy memories to look back on. And I'm absolutely positive that Dad would not want us to sit around being miserable and feeling sorry for ourselves! So with that in mind, I am sure our family will have lots more happy times ahead.
So sorry, Evelyn for you and your family's loss. No longer in front of your eyes but his heart still beats in time with yours and I remember you have those lenses he gave you...
