This is how I used it on one of my own images:
This is the original image ~ a pretty enough image on it's own!
This is the textured version.
I added the texture to the original image and the blend mode was multiply @ 100%. When resizing the texture to fit the image, I pulled it down enough so that the lace on the bottom of the texture sat just underneath the flowers. Next I added a levels adjustment layer - I moved the white slider from 255 to 209 and then moved the black output levels slider (underneath) from 0 - 23. Then I just flattened and saved the image! I quite like the soft vintage effect the texture has given the image!
